Global Smart Grid Leader Trilliant Selects McCabe, Continuing Commitment to Quality
McCabe Path Coverage, Ease of Use, and Multiple Language Support are Key Differentiators

Cranston, RI - Global Smart Grid communications and solutions leader, Trilliant, has selected McCabe IQ from McCabe Software to further improve code quality and mitigate risk in their award winning software and firmware. Trilliant provides communications solutions that deliver the benefits of the Smart Grid to utilities and their customers worldwide. “The key components for making the decision to use McCabe IQ were ease of use, consistent platform for multiple coding languages, and the ability to uncover code structure, test cases, complexity, and path coverage,” said Dave Tavares, Director of Quality and Risk Management at Trilliant.

“We are currently rolling McCabe IQ into our code base for firmware and software,” said Tavares. “Software and firmware development is looking at white box unit test coverage and complexity rating. Quality/Risk Management is looking at black box test coverage against instrumented code, and rating the complexity against ease of maintenance and testability.”

According to the National Institute of Standards and Technology web site, the Smart Grid is a nationwide network that uses information technology to deliver electricity efficiently, reliably, and securely. The Smart Grid represents a leap from a one-way, analog system of disconnected power suppliers to a two-way, digital, interoperable national network. It is a more efficient way to distribute and diversify our power sources - including environmentally friendly ones like wind and solar - as well as a nationwide communications system.
