MCCABE LAUNCHES THE INDUSTRY'S FIRST CHANGE VERRIFICATION TOOL FOR ENTERPRISE JAVA APPLICATION DEVELOPMENT, RELEASE ROCKET VERIFY, AT THE JAVA ONE CONFERENCE

Only application development tool for change-based testing, allowing faster, less expensive, and more efficient development

JAVAONE CONFERENCE, SAN FRANCISCO (BOOTH #219), March 26, 2002 - McCabe Software, a leader in providing software testing and quality assurance solutions for more than 120 mid - and large-sized customers across all industries, today and launched Release Rocket Verify 1.0, the industry's first tool that identifies, tracks, and reports on the verification of changes and testing results across and entire application via real-time feedback, enabling rapid delivery of releases with high confidence for developers, testers, and managers. Verify reduces testing time, maximizes existing testing resources, and increases the manageability of application releases, resulting in more flexibility, faster validation, and increased productivity for software teams.

Verify is the first deliverable product in McCabe's new Release Rocket product line. The Release Rocket strategy is focused on a single environment for change, configuration, and testing, replacing expensive, time-consuming point solutions.

"The launch of Release Rocket Verify has come at a perfect time," said Gerard Fleury, CEO of McCabe Software. "Java development organizations are under enormous pressure to get releases out the door. Release Rocket Verify will help them shorten release cycles and improve quality, which translates into a competitive edge and increased profits. Every Java shop should have this tool."

Verify remedies a slew of obstacles that software developers confront, including:

Product-release delays due to excessive testing time:
Verify identifies all code changes, and provides a concise list required in unit testing to validate and verify code functionality. As a result, developers and testers are more efficient and require 50 percent less time to create test environments, reducing cost along the way.

Lack of time and testing resources, preventing quick application delivery:
Verify is configured to maximize existing testing resources, so only changes between successive releases require testing, reducing validation time by 75 percent.

Absence of real-time data for managers to evaluate progress:
Verify provides dynamic tracking and real-time feedback and summary and detail information. This feature fosters better product-release management, and enables managers to view up-to-the-minute progress and address productivity issues.

"We have reviewed Verify for our environment and are enthusiastic about its benefits," said Greg Coticchia, CEO of ENTRA, Incorporated. "Certainly, it is tools like this that improve our time to market and reduce costly errors that often are found at the end of the development cycle."

"Verify is a great starting point for relieving a major cost and time issue for Java developers," said Clive Burrows, Principal Analyst at Ovum Ltd., London, UK.

Release Rocket Verify will be generally available April 2, 2002. Pricing starts at $9,995 for the first five concurrent users. Demos are available at and following the JavaOne Conference.
